Welcome to HAYMAN-WOODWARD! We are pleased to accompany you throughout your immigration journey, assisting you at every stage of the process and ensuring everything is handled clearly, organizedly, and efficiently.
To get started, you will soon receive your portal access credentials and instructions regarding the documentation required for your case.
Throughout this process, all communication regarding your case should be made exclusively through the Paralegal Department's email address: paralegal@hw.law. This is our team's official communication channel. All messages sent to this address are monitored and internally assigned to the professionals responsible for your case, ensuring greater organization, continuity, and efficiency in our service.
We look forward to hearing from you and remain at your disposal should you have any questions or need further assistance.
Together with this manual, you receive an email containing two things. Keep them at hand — you'll use them in the next section.
Follow the steps in order and tick each one off as you go. Each step tells you what you'll see on screen, so you always know you're on the right track.
Open the portal
Go to haymanwoodward.smartlawhub.com — on your computer, tablet, or phone. Bookmark it: you'll use it throughout your case.
Enter your username and temporary password
Username = your email address. Password = the temporary password from our email. Copy it carefully — no extra spaces before or after.
Create your own password
Choose a password only you know and save it somewhere safe. The temporary password stops working after this step.
Review your document checklist
Your home page lists every document we need from you, each with a status and an action button. The next section explains exactly how to read this screen.
Upload your first documents
Click Upload next to any item and add the file. Start with what you already have — passport, diplomas, certificates. PDF is preferred; clear phone photos are also fine.
This is what your portal looks like. Tap the orange numbers on the screen to understand each part.
| Name | Status | Share With | Action |
|---|---|---|---|
| Smart Worksheet for [Your Name] | To be completed | HW | |
| Passport and Visas | To be completed | HW | |
| Authorship of scholarly articles in the field | To be completed | HW | |

| Resume — updated | Reviewed | HW | |
| Questionnaires — Critical Role | Reviewed | HW | |
"To be completed" = your turn
Every item with this status is waiting for an action from you — either uploading a document or filling in a form.
Upload button = send us a file
Click it, choose the file from your device, done. When your file appears in the list, we have received it.
Review button = fill in online
Some items are smart worksheets you complete directly in the portal instead of uploading a file. Click Review to open and answer them.
Completed = nothing more to do
Once our team checks an item, it moves here with the status "Reviewed." You never need to touch these again.
| Status | What it means | What you do |
|---|---|---|
| To be completed | The item is waiting for you. | Click Upload (send a file) or Review (fill in a worksheet). |
| Reviewed | Our team received and checked your item. | Nothing — it's done and archived in your Completed list. |
| Needs attention | Something requires a correction or a better copy. | You'll receive an email from paralegal@hw.law with clear instructions. |
